Sandalford Wines Estate - Underground Cellar

I recently went to one of my friends' wedding reception at the Sandalford Wines Estate

It has been a while since I've been to any weddings. Most of our friends have been married for quite sometimes and currently at a very different stage of their lives (kids wise) than the rest of us 'single couples', so the chances of us getting an invitation to any weddings these days are very rare!

Nevertheless, I was excited about going to Chín & Sơn's wedding. Firstly because the location was at a winery (not the typical Chinese restaurant's dinner type that we're so used to) and secondly, I was dying to see the wedding cake that Jojo aka @myweyoflife has made for Chín & Sơn!!!

Jojo and I met at Billy Law's Food Photography Workshop in July last year, but before that I knew of her via her blog 'My Wey of Life' and has been (for a long time) one of her loyal followers.
Pre-dinner drinks started at 6pm and I must have been too excited, about catching up with some old friends that I literally forgot to take photos of some of the canapé
...except for this one 'Prawns wrapped in Prosciutto' and it was so delicious - I ended up with 3 sticks to myself!!!

While everyone were out on the Merlot Lawn for the pre-dinner drinks, I snuck down to the Underground Cellar to take some photos of the reception.
The décors were so beautiful with soft table lighting and those rustic American Oak barrels in the background were just amazing Smiley

While at it, I couldn't help but taking in photos of the Bridal table too Smiley

Finally, the party started...
That means... yummy food to be follows Smiley
Entrée: 'delicious' Tiger Prawn Cutlets with Ruby Grapefruit & Fennel Salad, Saffron & Shallot Dressing - it does tasted as good as it sounds Smiley
Most Asians prefers beers over wine, so that bottle above was practically 'all mine' the whole night long Smiley Smiley

Our Mains came out next...
so was the Toasting... to a 'Happily Ever After' newly wed "cheers!"

His: 'Grilled Barramundi on Chilled Pesto Chat Potato & Asparagus Salad, Cherry Tomato & Lime Salsa' were delicious and moist with generous size serving.
Mine: 'Char Grilled Fillet of Beef on Roast Garlic Mash Potato, Broccoloni and Crisp Prosciutto & Shiraz Jus' was just divine. I am normally a fish kind of person, but that night I decided to go with the beef and it was the best choice I ever made!
Cake cutting time next...
This cake was made with love by the gorgeous Jojo of myweyoflife - isn't she talented?!

And finally dessert....
'Raspberry Roulade with Strawberry Salad & Raspberry Coulis' was just divine!!!

The boys were too busy drinking up on Merlot Lawn that I 'could have and would have' gone for second if I wasn't already full from all the yummy food above Smiley

Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Underground Cellar. All the staffs were so friendly and attentive to our needs, topping up our drinks constantly and checking in often without being intrusive. I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience together with the excellent customer service provided by all the staff (especially Wayne, who waits at our table) that night.
