Lyvia, Christina and I caught up for brunch at Cecchi's on Sunday morning, after of course being tagged by no one other than Lyvia on Instagram about a week or so ago Smiley

Being Asian, we're typically like to share our food and that's exactly what we did - we picked 4 dishes to try.

The first dish was the Mushroom trifolati, ricotta & goats cheese mousse, slow cooked egg, toast $17.
This dish was the girls' favourite, especially Christina! I personally finds the mushroom a bit overcooked and plus I have lactose-intolerant so couldn't really enjoy the ricotta & goats cheese mousse that much but the girls raved about it, so it must be good!

The second dish we tried was the Steak, thyme hash, fried egg, red pepper jam $21.
We picked this dish because the 'thyme' hash sounds a bit exotic and we were keen to find out what's it taste like! This dish was my favourite, only because I am a red meat fan Smiley the hash however would tasted nicer if it wasn't too dense.

The third dish was the Crispy pork belly, choucroute, peas, brioche crust, fried egg $19.
The common feedback about this dish was it a bit salty and the crispy pork belly was rather dry. It would have tasted nicer if the pork belly was a little bit moist.

And the fourth dish we shared was the Brioche croissant ($4) salted caramel ice cream (+ $3).
It was THE dish behind the real reason the girls and I caught up for brunch yesterday morning!

The salted caramel ice cream was amazing! The brioche croissant's exterior was flakey while the interior was dense and hence it was able to absorb the ice cream, much like a bread pudding (if you weren't able to eat it quickly enough and the ice cream melts!) Smiley I'm glad we shared this dish as I personally think this dish can be a little bit too "rich" for just one person, in my opinion anyway.

I also ordered my usual Skinny Flat White though the coffee wasn't as strong and I tasted milk more so than coffee.

Cecchi's has been opened since 2012 and run by a husband and wife team, Mark & Kylee-Anne Cecchi. Kylee-Ann managed the front of house while Mark is the Chef and looking after the food side.

Cecchi's can be a bit difficult to find as it look like a normal residential house from the drive by, unless you see a sign like this out the front!

Service was excellent; both of the ladies who served our table were polite, cheerful and patient. The décor was warm and homely, little things like a simple vase with some flowers (see below) does makes a difference, although the wind was quite strong yesterday and knocked these vases over a few times!

Overall a pleasant experience for my very first visit, I am keen to come back with hubby to try the Grilled Fremantle octopus, warm potato salad, paprika, parsley, morcilla and maybe the Seared salmon, spinach & egg white omelette, asparagus gremolata!
